About WIOA

The Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) is designed to help job seekers access employment, education, training, and support services to succeed in the labor market. WIOA was designed to offer flexibility to state and local areas so they can better address the employment and skill needs of employees and employers.

It aligns the education, economic and workforce systems & improves the structure and delivery of programming to the people that really matter – American workers. This modernization of the nation’s workforce development system will ensure access to people of every skill level the opportunity to get the skills they need to get and maintain employment. It also helps employers find skilled workers to help regional and state economies thrive and create a place where people want to work and live.

Some WIOA highlights:

  • Workforce Development Boards will maintain much of the same structure and will be in charge of local and state workforce goals
  • Accountability measures will be put in place to ensure effectiveness and improvement of One-Stop and Youth services

Adults and Dislocated Worker Measures

  • Entered employment and retained employment will be measured in Q2 and Q4 after exit of your program respectively
  • Participant needs to be acquiring more skills while enrolled in programming
  • You need to ensure that your program is effective in serving employer needs

Youth Program Measures

  • Placement in employment, education & training is measured in Q2 after exit
  • Participant needs to be acquiring more skills while enrolled in programming
  • 75% of out-of-school youth must be served under the new law
  • Create career pathways for every participant
  • Improve services to individuals with disabilities
  • You need to ensure that your program is effective in serving employer needs

Improving Outcomes to Focus on Employer Needs

For the past century, the cry from employers in this country has been to include soft skills assessment and training when preparing students for the workplace.  Soft skills are primary factors of motivation and the gateway to lifelong learning and high levels of achievement. Today, many youth and adults lack the soft skills necessary for success in the workplace.  This need has been mostly ignored – until now.

Our Solutions For You

Workplace Readiness

On of the goals of WIOA is to make sure that employers’ needs are being met. A study by the American Association of Colleges and Universities says 3 out of 5 employers believe it takes both hard and soft skills to achieve long-term career success. You need to address these skills in your workforce program. While meeting that need, our Workplace Readiness program is designed to keep two things in mind – efficiency and affordability.  Our cloud-based programs begin with a pre-assessment. Based on the user’s results, our program automatically assigns curriculum, followed by a post-assessment to measure skill acquisition. Everything is automatically administered, scored, graphed, and saved so you can be accountable for their results.

Workplace-Readiness-is-recognized
