The Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO) has created new standards for patient safety and quality of
care with regard to disruptive behavior and conflict management.These new standards are targeted to help deal with disruptive medical
staff behavior in a fair and organized fashion. Should disruptive behavior interfere with the quality of patient care, health care facilities are
required to put into practice a process to identify and manage the individual’s health-related matters.
