Our prisons are full of youth and adults who saw no connection between interests and academic skills that enable a person to succeed in life and the workplace. Our MECA System is a hands-on career exploration and assessment system designed to help make that connection. Use our social/emotional learning programs to help individuals set and achieve academic and career goals, as well as develop key self management skills for personal and career success.

Consider using all of parts of our system to:

Interest Indicator - Assesses individual career interests

Work Samples - Provides hands-on age-appropriate transition assessments

Learning Assessment Programs - Provides academic/basic skills assessments related to the workplace and correlates to all state standards under No Child Left Behind

The Career Planner - Involves the learner in creating their own transition plan

Personal Responsibility - Assesses and then teaches core self-determination skills related to academic and post-secondary goal setting and achievement.

The Success Profiler - Provides assessment and skill intervention strategies for social/emotional intelligence–the new softskills for today’s workplace

Functional Skills System - Assesses and then teaches functional life, social, literacy and work skills
