Perhaps the most difficult and challenging aspect of any alternative education program serving at-risk students is the ability to connect interests to academic and career learning. Our MECA System is a hands-on career exploration and assessment tool designed to do just that. Use our Learning Assessment Programs (LAPs) to connect learning to individual interest areas to "establish a need to learn". Use our new correlations to connect the results of the LAPs to your state content standards for adequate yearly progress. Our social/emotional learning programs (Personal Responsibility and the Success Profiler) can help students improve self-determination and goal setting and achieving skills as well as increase critical success skills such as self-esteem, decision making, commitment, time management, stress management and more.
