What are LAPs?

LAPs (Learning Assessment Programs) are a variety of job-specific basic skills learning assessments related to successful job performance. They were created to help identify one's ability to handle job-specific math, communication, science, and problem solving skills related to the workplace.

Why Reinvent the Wheel?

The special education law under transition surfaces further requires the creation of “transition services (including course of study) needed to assist the child in reaching those goals.” Now you are further required to establish goals for students with disabilities that align with your state’s content standards and definition of adequate yearly progress. Many educators feel that complying with these requirements is the most difficult part of the new law.

WE CAN HELP! The LAPs are now correlated to the state content standards of all fifty states. By doing this,we have addressed two major requirements of this new legislation:

1. Connecting your existing curriculum to the course of study needed to support the post-secondary transition goals.

2. Connecting your transition program to the NCLB legislation.

Why not save time and money by purchasing the LAPs today and avoid all the frustrations of attempting to connect your curriculum to content standards?

The system begins with a screening of interests (INTEREST INDICATOR). The results are then scored and stored. The management system assigns activities for the user.

The management system delivers all assigned job-specific, academic skills assessments (LEARNING ASSESSMENT PROGRAMS)...

...then scores the assessments....

...then correlates results to your state content standards.

While doing all this, the management system is tracking, scoring, benchmarking, storing and printing data on each user in the system.
