Conover Mobile Technology Grant

Purpose

The purpose of the Conover Mobile Technology Grant is to promote the use of mobile technology and our apps to improve an individual’s freedom and independence.

Eligibility

Individuals, parents, caretakers, teachers, counselors, religious leaders, private organizations and public organizations within the United States are eligible to apply for this grant. The grants are currently targeted to the use of iPod and iPad devices to assist individuals in improving their ability to function independently in their homes, schools, workplaces and communities. Successful grantees will receive either an iPod or an iPad preloaded with all Conover Company Functional Skills System videos to assist individuals in developing freedom and independence.

Terms for Acceptance

The applicant must complete the application. The Conover Company will have sole discretion to accept or reject any application based upon information provided through the grant application. All decisions to decline a grant are final and may not be appealed.

For my son Thomas, who has Autism, having an iPad has been life changing. Thomas was immediately interested in the Functional Skills System videos so that is where we started. The videos that highlight money are favorites and elicit spontaneous speech when he is watching them. We also set up his daily schedule and maintain his calendar on the iPad, which eliminated the binder we were using.

We have 9 children living in our home, of which 5 have disabilities. We have seen improved fine motor skills, spatial awareness, memory and visual processing as a result of this technology. We love the Functional Skills System videos. Our child with autism watches these videos over and over, and applies the information in her everyday activities. What a blessing! Thank You Conover!
